prophet makes a brilliant point - just because I'm in the industry doesn't mean I'm not a normal person. Basically auto tune corrects the pitch of a signal within a selected key. It sound VERY unnatural. An example of obvious autotune is Believe by Cher. But that's an extreme example. 90%, maybe more of modern records use auto-tune. If you have a particularly bad singer, it tends to be more obvious. I watched the acoustic version from Warped Tour. Horrible!!

auto tune is like this thingy used in recording that pitches vocals to the right notes so that they harmonize perfectly with the music

lol thats not realistic at all....im in the music industry so i have no time to look at youtube and make a comment, thats a horrible misconception. you'd be suprised how many people are in this "music industry". and dude, auto tune is now become a very typical development process in almost all music, especially mainstream
